In the beginning, God created the heaven
and the earth Genesis 1:1
And God said, ‘Let there be lights
in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day
from the night; and let them be for signs,
and for seasons, and for days, and years. Genesis 1:14
And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens
to give light upon the earth: and it was so. Genesis 1:15
And God made two great lights;
the greater light to rule the day,
and the lesser light to rule the night:
he made the stars also. Genesis 1:16
And to rule over the day
and over the night, and to divide the
light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: Proverbs 24:13. umm… good!
Our Lord really knew what He was doing when He created the honey bee who gathers the pollen from the many various floral sources to provide us with gorgeous honey. I read recently in an article from the DailyHealthPost that Honey And Ginger Kill Superbugs Better Than Pharmaceutical Meds.
In fact, the NIH (National Institute of Health) has the scientific research data which verifies this. The research data concludes “The result of this study showed that honey-ginger powder extract mixtures have the potential to serve as cheap source of antibacterial agents especially for the drug resistant bacteria strains.”
Because of the post antibiotic era we live in and because of so many superbugs which are now resistant to some of the most powerful antibiotics, I eat honey routinely and keep an extra jar available because of the shortage of honey bees. I am blessed, and thankful that I live in an area where pure honey is plentiful because much of the honey on the store shelf is fake honey.
Honey comes in many varieties, depending upon the floral source and pollen gathered by the honey bee, but as a general rule, the darker the honey the better its antibacterial and antioxidant power. The five pound jar of honey you see in the picture above, as shown, is darker in color and is of the Wildflower blend. I purchase all of my honey from a local beekeeper who owns Bonny Hill Honey (Farm) who has a large variety and many sizes at a Farm Market every Saturday from May Through October located in the Finger Lakes Region in a small town called Bath, New York. I use this same honey in my Lip and Body Balms which makes for a delicious tasting balm. Along with the natural beeswax I purchase from the same place, you won’t find a better balm anywhere.
If you are vacationing in the beautiful New York State, one of a kind Finger Lakes Region, be sure to visit the Bath, New York Farm Market and get some of the best honey you will ever find.
