Jesus Appears To Mary Magdalene
Who would have thought that by adding the brilliantly red colored crushed saffron herb to your homemade soap batter you would end up with a gorgeous light tan colored body soap with natural white twirls? From my most recent creations, that’s exactly what happened when I made this Saffron Herbal body soap over a week ago.
I was thrilled with the final outcome of the soap that I made. I have discovered that one of the most exciting and surprising things about making homemade body soap is that you never know what color you will end up with in the process because the natural chemical reaction of the saponification process is full of surprises and can change one natural color to another.
This beautiful Saffron Herbal Soap is also a Castile body soap, containing for the larger part pure Organic Olive Oil. To make for a bubbly lather and skin conditioner, I added organic Coconut Oil along with Caster Oil, a wonderful oil that attracts and holds moisture to your skin as well as contributes to a hard bar of soap, along with a nice stabilizing, creamy lather as well.
This batch of soap will now remain on the rack to cure for months to obtain a desirable ph of 8.5-9, and to obtain a nice hard bar of soap. I ran into a soap maker selling her soap at a local farm market in my area over the weekend who said she cured her soap for only three weeks. I couldn’t believe my ears. Many new soap makers often make the mistake of being in a hurry to sell their soap at the local farm markets which will more than likely leave the customer very dissatisified with the product they have purchased and not return for more in the future.
One of the most important things to remember is that there is no short cut or cutting corners in producing a high quality body soap that will cause a customer to return over and over for more in the future. I think that is the best principle to follow in any passion or dream you may have.
For many people, the beautiful song “You Raise Me Up” by Josh Groban is about that special person in their life.
For me, this song has a spiritual meaning and is about Jesus and the love He has shown to me and every person on earth of all races and ethnic groups. John 3:16
He is my friend who sticks closer than a brother and will never leave or forsake me as He has declared in His Word. Hebrews 13:5
He raises me up so I can stand on mountains. Matthew 17:20.He raises me up to walk on stormy seas. Matthew 14:22-23. I am strong when I am on His shoulders. Isaiah 41:10
Here’s wishing all of my readers a most blessed and prosperous New Year
Isaiah 43:19 ” Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
No one knows what our future will bring, but one thing is a definite certain; we can be sure who holds our future;
The New Year usually always brings us to think about new plans, new resolutions, new things we would like to have to make us happy, and so forth;
Let us not forget the One who holds our future, without whom we can do nothing,
And Jesus opened his mouth, and taught them saying:
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.
I have always believed that
God has given each one of
us a special gift, or talent.
What we do with our talent
is what we give back to God.
As every man hath received the gift,
even so minister the same one to another,
as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
1 Peter 4:10
Who among us has figured out the plan that God has for our lives from the beginning to the end?
Afterall, I never dreamed in a million years that at this stage of my life, after growing up in the country a great deal of the time in my earlier years and then going off to college to become employed in the medical profession and working as a medical missionary, I would take another turn in the road, one of many, to hand craft as pure as possible, using my nursing background, body care products gathering from nature what God has given us in His creation to keep our skin healthy, shiny and moisturized. Maybe God was looking for a vessel to put to use what He has given us for His glory?
I guess I could say, looking back now, I took the long way around to get back to the basics of God’s creation in the country and where I belonged. Or the winding route I took had a later purpose in God’s plan for my life? If someone had told me back then this is what I was suppose to do, I would never had thought it so. I had other plans.
A near death experience changes everything. But our Lord knew beforehand all about that too. None of us can figure out God no matter how hard you try. Perhaps our Lord was also showing me that Romans 8:28 from His Word is true if I’d just be patient and wait for Him to show me more. God is not limited or bound by time because He is eternal; His timing is not our timing.
It never ceases to amaze me as I look back upon my life the paths I have taken were no accident or coincidence, and while at the time I never saw the plan God had for my life, like the Captain of the Ship He is, His hand was steering me in the direction that lead me on a path where He knew I belonged all the time at this stage in my life.
That’s where I’m at today. Trusting in our Lord’s promises in Thy Word for the plan God has for my life.
He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle
and the herb for the service of man:
that he may bring food out of the earth;
And wine that maketh glad the heart of man,
and oil to make his face to shine… Psalm 104:14-15
This catch was from last summer. Fishing in the pond is always a fun time with my best guy and brother, even though the pet fish get put back in the pond. When I am not making body soaps and body creams, gardening and fishing are two other great passions of mine. It won’t be long and the Spring garden will be put in.
